Harvest is the first coffee I have chosen for The Fall Company, and it carries everything I wanted this place to be about from the beginning.

It starts with Artie. My dog survived a life-threatening attack, and watching him find his footing again changed something in me about the value of slowing down and paying attention. Ten per cent of every bag of Harvest sold goes to dog welfare charities, because I believe kindness starts with small, deliberate choices, and then ripples further than you expect.

This is a single-origin Colombian from the mountains surrounding Medellín, grown at between 1,400 and 1,800 metres in volcanic soil under a tropical mountain climate.

Harvest is the kind of cup that suits a morning when you have allowed yourself a little extra time, a book on the table, no particular urgency. A deliberate half-hour before the day begins. That is the version of autumn I was trying to capture.

Being mindful of where your coffee comes from is its own act of kindness, one that reaches further than most of us realise.

Available in 250g and 1kg, whole bean or ground to order.

Brewing notes

Harvest brews well across methods. I have enjoyed it through espresso and AeroPress.

Best For: Pour over, drip coffee, AeroPress, espresso
Grind: Medium for drip, fine for espresso
Ratio: 1:16 (15g to 240ml water)
Temperature: 93-96°C (199-205°F)
Time: 3-4 minutes for pour over

More about the beans

The beans are washed. Cherries are pulped within 24 hours of picking, fermented for 12 to 18 hours, washed in clean mountain water, and sun-dried on patios for up to 12 days. That process produces the clarity you find in the cup: caramel and milk chocolate in the body, a brightness that opens toward citrus and red apple, and a finish that lingers somewhere sweet and clean. The aroma, before anything else, is floral and warm, with a suggestion of brown sugar.

It is a medium roast, cupping at 85 points and above.

The beans are sourced through direct trade with smallholder farmers in Antioquia. Being mindful of where your coffee comes from is its own quiet act of kindness, one that reaches further than most of us realise.
